Joe Dunn moved to Slidell, La in early 2005 from Texas, having lived there for most of his life, earning a B.A. degree from S.A.G.C in Waxahachie, Tx. in 1982. Joe met and married his wife Gayla in 2001. She was a flight attendant for American Eagle Airlines, and was originally from Louisiana.
After a few years, they moved to Beaumont, Tx. where Joe was the Finance Director at a large automobile dealership. From Beaumont, they would drive to Dallas to visit his grown children, or to Jena, La. to visit with Gayla's family, or mostly to New Orleans to watch the Saints play football for 2 years, driving 4 hour each way. Finally, after 2 years he decided to relocate to the Greater New Orleans area instead of making the drive. He contacted Tom Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints, who was very helpful and instrumental in facilitating the transfer. Joe and Gayla now live in Slidell having lost their home and most of their possessions to Hurricane Katrina, where he continued in the auto industry as a finance professional.
Joe and Gayla love the culture, people, food, music, life on the water, and have carved out a dream life for themselves. Surrounded by many, many friends, with so much in common, Joe decided to leave the automobile industry and pursue a career in real estate, joining his wife Gayla, they are now partners in their real estate venture. They hope to help many people realize their dreams of home ownership and at the same time have the time to enjoy their self employed lifestyle. Joe said he appreciates the success he had as a finance professional, but is looking forward to more time with family and friends that the automobile industry does not typically afford.
